Postdoctoral Researchers

I am happy to assist talented young researchers in applying for various prestigious postdoc and early career fellowships so that they can come and work in my research group. Some possibilities are:
  • EPSRC Postdoc fellowship, any nationality, usually two opportunities to apply per year via fellowship panels.  
  • Leverhulme early career fellowship, any nationality, closing date usually March each year.
  • Newton International Fellowship, must be working outside the UK and be a non-UK resident, usually call in Jan and closing date in March each year. 
  • Royal commission 1851 fellowship, any nationality, call usually opens October each year.
  • Royal Society University Research Fellowship, must be citizen of EEA or Swiss. Closing date usually Sept each year.
  • Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship, must be citizen of EEA or Swiss. Closing date usually early on in the year.

PhD Students


I am always on the look-out for good students who are interested in working with me towards a PhD. You should have a first class honours degree in Mathematics or a degree with significant mathematical content. For project ideas, look around the website, especially on the research pages.
